No 39 - SPECIAL COMPOUND FEED FOR SHEEP AND GOATS IN FLUSHING PERIOD

INTRODUCTION

VIOZOKAT SA, in collaboration with nutritional scientists, developed a new series of compound feeds for sheep & goats. The aim of the new products is to help animals maintain high health status and increased productivity. The ultimate goal is to ensure production of high quality products with lower production costs.

The concept of developing the new products is based on the principle of "precision feeding”. According to the latter principle, ruminant nutrition should focus on providing nutrients in such quantities and ratios that are able to maximize the efficiency of rumen microorganisms and the digestibility of feeds.

This special compound feed No39 is designed for sheep and goats in the mating (flushing) period and for males. Contains yeast culture, trace elements in chelated form (Keragen®) and protected selenium (Se^protect) that are highly absorbed.

RECOMMENDED USE

This special compound feed combined with forages covers the highly nutritional demands of sheep during the reproduction season. Two weeks before realizing the males in the herd, the females with moderate body condition are selected and eat more feed. This process is called stimulation (flushing) and results in increasing the number of follicles released during ovulation and finally bigger success of the coupling and multiparity.

Depending on the body of the animals, the compound feed No39 is proposed to be given in quantity 400-450 g/animal/day for the periods of 2-3 weeks before and  2-3 weeks after the mating, combined with very good quality alfalfa hay.

In males is proposed to be given 1 month before the period of the matings, in quantities of 1.200 -1.600 g/animal/day.

Any change of feed must be done progressively in 5 - 7 days.

PHYSICAL COMPOSITION

Maize, soybean meal genetically modified, barley, wheat bran, sunflower meal, alfalfa meal, cotton pulp, by-pass vegetable fat, beet molasses, calcium carbonate, mono-calcium phosphate, sodium chloride, premix of vitamins and minerals. The production process involves heat treatment with Hygienizer, which enables the destruction of pathogens that might be present in raw materials (e.g. brucella of melitensis that causes brucellosis, Salmonella, etc.) and hence safeguarding animal health.
